Academy Awards. Mowgli is a "man cub" raised by the wolf Raksha and her pack, led by Akela, in an Indian jungle ever since he was brought to them as a baby by the black panther. Bagheera. Bagheera trains Mowgli to learn the ways of the wolves, but the boy faces certain challenges and falls behind his wolf siblings while Akela disapproves of him using human tricks like building tools instead of learning the ways of the pack. One day, during the dry season, the jungle animals gather to drink the water that remains as part of a truce during a drought that enables the jungle's wildlife to drink without fear of being eaten by their predators. The truce is disrupted when a scarred tiger named Shere Khan arrives detecting Mowgli's scent in the large crowd.
Resentful against man for scarring him, he issues a warning that he will kill Mowgli at the end of the drought. After the drought ends, the wolves debate whether they should keep Mowgli or not. Mowgli decides to leave the jungle for the safety of his pack. Bagheera agrees with the decision and volunteers to guide him to the nearby man village. En route, Shere Khan ambushes them and injures Bagheera, but Mowgli manages to escape. Later, Mowgli meets an enormous python named Kaa who hypnotizes him.
While under her influence, Mowgli sees a vision of his father being mauled while protecting him from Shere Khan. The vision also warns of the destructive power of the "red flower" (fire). Kaa attempts to devour Mowgli, but she is attacked by a sloth bear named Baloo, rescuing an unconscious Mowgli.
Baloo and Mowgli bond while retrieving some difficult- to- access honey for Baloo and Mowgli agrees to stay with Baloo until the winter season arrives. Upon learning that Mowgli has left the jungle, Shere Khan kills Akela and threatens the pack to lure Mowgli out. Bagheera eventually finds Mowgli and Baloo and is angered that Mowgli has not joined the humans as agreed, but Baloo calms him down and persuades both of them to sleep on it.
Despite the familiar title this movie is actually a blend of the classic 1967 Jungle Book movie from Disney, and Rudyard Kipling's collective works based around the. During the night, Mowgli finds a herd of Indian elephants gathered around a ditch and uses his vines to save a baby elephant from the ditch. Although Baloo and Bagheera are both impressed, Baloo realizes that he cannot guarantee Mowgli's safety after learning that he is being hunted by Shere Khan. Baloo agrees to push Mowgli away to get him to continue onward to the man village. Mowgli is kidnapped by the "Bandar- log" (monkeys) who present him to their leader, a giant ape named King Louie. Assuming that all humans can make fire, King Louie offers Mowgli protection from Shere Khan in exchange for it. Baloo distracts King Louie while Bagheera tries to sneak him out, but their plan is discovered. As King Louie chases Mowgli through his temple, he informs Mowgli of Akela's death.
King Louie's rampage eventually causes his temple to collapse on top of him. Furious that Baloo and Bagheera never told him about Akela's death, Mowgli goes to confront Shere Khan alone. Mowgli steals a lit torch at the village to use as a weapon and heads back to the jungle, accidentally starting a wildfire in the process. He confronts Shere Khan, who argues that Mowgli has made himself the enemy of the jungle by causing the wildfire.
Mowgli throws the torch into the water, giving Shere Khan the advantage. Baloo, Bagheera, and the wolf pack intervene and hold Shere Khan off, giving Mowgli enough time to set a trap. He lures Shere Khan up a dead tree and onto a branch, which breaks under the tiger's weight and Shere Khan falls into the fire to his death.

It all starts when Arnold and his classmates take a trip to San Lorenzo, Central America, which, coincidentally, is the last place Arnold’s parents were seen. Their trip takes a turn when pirates kidnap Arnold and his friends! From there it’s one jungle hazard after another, and the gang must put their heads together to get out of danger. As the leader of the journey, Arnold must make sure he and his friends survive safely, all while working towards a reunion he’s dreamt of his whole life.
Background. Theatrical Development. When Nickelodeon renewed Hey Arnold! Craig Bartlett a chance to develop two feature- length movies based on the show. One made directly for TV and video, called Arnold Saves the Neighborhood, and another slated for a theatrical release. Nickelodeon asked Bartlett to do "the biggest idea he could think of" for the theatrical film.[1] After looking at the series, Bartlett decided to make the theatrical feature a follow- up to the episode "Parents Day", and have Arnold try to solve the question of what happened to his lost parents. This became known as Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie.
The story of The Jungle Movie was developed between 1. Craig Bartlett, Steve Viksten, and Jonathan Greenberg, and the script reached its 6th or 7th draft. In 2. 00. 0, executives at Nickelodeon and Paramount decided to give the made- for- TV movie Arnold Saves the Neighborhood a theatrical release instead, under the title of Hey Arnold!
The Movie. Around this time, Nickelodeon also asked Craig to produce three more half- hours, two of which became the special one- hour "prequel" episode called "The Journal", which was planned to serve as a lead- in to the second movie. At the time these last episodes were being worked on, The Jungle Movie was in pre- production, and a number of storyboards, test footage and concept art were made. Craig Bartlett and his crew later left Nickelodeon when production on "The Journal" ended on December 7, 2. Cancellation. The first movie was released theatrically in 2. This directly led to Paramount Pictures never green- lighting of The Jungle Movie and leaving the series in an unresolved cliffhanger ending. Interlude Years and Fan Interest. Over the years, Craig Bartlett revealed several details about the movie (such as parts of the plot and the characters) through online chats and interviews, but refused to give out too many details, in case he someday got the chance to make it, though he never thought it would really happen. The highly positive reception to the Teen. Nick block sparked the interest of Nick executives, and they put Chris Viscardi, co- creator of The Adventures of Pete & Pete, in charge of mining the network's content library, and possibly bringing some of their older properties back for a new generation. In 2. 01. 3, Craig announced that he was now officially back at Nickelodeon working on a new show called Sky Rat, and still was interested in producing TJM.
While Craig was pitching his ideas, he began talking with the Nick executives about the ways the characters from the old series continued to gain mentions in online forums, citing fan art and fan fiction to short films on You. Tube. According to Viscardi, Bartlett came to the network with a "really clear and concise and beautiful continuation of the series" he wanted to tell.
Signs of The Jungle Movie resuming production started popping up some time later. In a late 2. 01. 4 interview on The Arun Mehta Show, Justin Shenkarow, the voice actor for Harold, hinted that discussions between Nickelodeon and Craig had been going on about possibly green- lighting the second movie. Craig confirmed later that year that he was indeed going into meetings with Nickelodeon executives. In 2. 01. 5, production storyboards from the cancelled movie posted in Raymie Muzquiz's website back in 2. Mysterious Reason". Nickelodeon officially announced that it was planning to reboot some of their older properties[3], and mentioned that a Hey Arnold! Craig Bartlett confirmed that "they were working on it", but refused to give out details. On November 2. 3, Nickelodeon announced that they were developing a new Hey Arnold! TV movie which would pick up after the cliffhanger ending of the series and resolve unanswered plotlines; with Bartlett as a writer and executive producer[5].

On March 1st, 2. 01. Nick's 2. 01. 6- 2. TV Upfront, it was announced that the new Arnold movie would be a two- part TV movie, and was set for a 2. Alongside the announcement, Nickelodeon Animation Studios released a concept drawn by Craig Bartlett. The following day, Craig Bartlett announced that the 'two- part, two- hour' movie had been greenlit for production, and confirmed that the new TV movie was indeed the long- awaited Jungle Movie.[7]During Nickelodeon's panel in the 2. Nick fans was crucial in bringing the series back. Revived Production. When the movie was first announced in November 2. The movie later entered full- on production on March 2.
